Identity Project
This revolves around my wearing of rings. I did a google search and found a theory that each finger stands for something and that wearing rings on said finger may be a constraint to that characteristic. The meanings are as follows:
Thumb; Willpower
Index; Authority
Middle; Identity
Ring; Creativity
Little; Relationships
For this project I made a small film piece, wrote on my fingers & paper (one piece of paper per finger) and made a series of photographs.
The film piece firstly comments on my obsession with rings. The use of sign language comments mainly on the use of fingers as a language form but also my shyness and dislike of speaking in public. Uploaded to youtube to save some space on my webserver, so excuse the crapper quality!
